We were actually excited for Jameson to start pre-k/school, but now with Florida trying to officially ban vaccine requirements, we are probably going to have to keep him home. I just know there are going to be some crusty parents who will refuse it for daycare too.

Will possibly home school him for kindergarten, but we’ll see. He has to wait until he is six due to his birthday, so it will be close to when my wife’s contract is done, and we can move to a better state, and he can just start at a public school hopefully.

Just bought a house too, due to its proximity to where we are now/the daycare options all being like three minutes away good times

Fuuuuuuck. That's awful timing. My wife and I were just talking yesterday about what a rough decision this would be if we lived there. I don't love the idea of Florida setting some sort of precedent for other conservative-leaning states too.

 

Yeah we 100% think we're next and are terrified about what that means

Yeah we are quite furious, but I think we’ll be able to sell it easily in three years. We’re adding hardwood and a pool, and this area is kind of the younger up-and-coming area of Orlando’s eastern side, so I’m thinking we will at least get the money back on our initial closing amount.

Thankfully our pediatrician is hardline about requiring vaccinations, and even offered to let us pay to get our 4 month old the RSV vaccine when they time comes, and was chill about saying we want him to get the measles vaccine at 6 months instead of a year

 

David means "The Beloved One" so when a parent experiences the miracle of life, looks down at their baby and names them David, they're saying "EVERYONE WILL LOVE THIS BABY"
