To me that’s like Aaron Rodgers continuing to talk shit long after he’s no longer a good QB just because he WAS really good once. Sure he still has a lot of super fans from that era that listen to his podcast but that’s not the point, it’s a really bad look when he hasn’t done any good footballing in years but still acts like he’s gods gift to sports. That’s how Oasis feels to me. Sure they can still sell out stadiums based off material from 1996 but they’ve long lost the privilege to continue to act like they’re more important than more recently timeless bands

 

although i know deep in my heart when Noel said all guitar bands are shit now, he was referring to the Idles/Fontaines of the world, so I'll give him some points for that

i have no cat in this fight but this is an awful comparison man lol

 

noel had one album right after the breakup that was pretty big. he ultimately isn’t a very compelling solo singer though. liam’s first few albums stink bc he isn’t a great songwriter but his true solo albums starting in like 2019 with pop songwriters have been great. think liam’s solo career was doing pretty good numbers in the uk based on gig size but obviously neither really translated here
