I agree with this whole post, my caveat is that Radiohead improved after they changed styles and that’s really the important part to me. Regardless whether you changed styles or didn’t I just more highly value a band that kept releasing good shit over a decade after their initial popularity. I never see Oasis fans REALLY rep their later shit lol it’s all the same stuff from 1993-1996

Oasis can be overrated but I just actively do not like Blur. Being so far removed from that whole rivalry too I am always amused. I imagine this is what future generations will think of the Tom Brady/Eli Manning rivalry

Oasis really reads to me like a band that coasted off their nostalgia and that would be fine if they weren’t still so cocky and projecting about what they accomplished back in their day. not really cause you never see Thom bragging about how they “touched an entire generation” or talking shit about any other bands lol. The Gallagher’s attitude as celebrities plays heavily into my dislike of them. They have catchy material but it’s nowhere near good enough nor did it persist for a long enough time for me to back up and be like “alright that guy can talk shit in 2025” lol. It makes me like their music less that they behave the way they do
