you were dinging oasis for not evolving. they have never had to evolve because they’re exceptionally good at what they do. radiohead had to because they hit a wall of running out of good songs with traditional songwriting. that is the point.

 

It helped for me that I lived in Denton, TX at the time which is the ideal time to be listening to a new Radiohead album

 

Everything in its right place still has a top 3 chord progression for me personally.

 

They didn’t run out of good songs in general though so why the fuck does it matter they didn’t stay in one genre lol. That’s dumb and boring if you’re a band that’s gonna be popular for THIRTY YEARS

The take would hold up if they tried to keep making that music and it just kept sucking but that’s not what happened, they moved on and aimed higher and accomplished other goals very well too
