more power to them for learning how to do that and pivoting but oasis didn’t have to pivot because they’re good at what they do

it has defined their output the last twenty years. that is not an unfair critique. their music that exists prior to that is different and good, as i stated above

 

The Gallaghers just rub me entirely the wrong way, they are an exact trope of what I don’t like about British culture lol

 

they didn’t evolve and change solely for the sake of evolving though. they did it and have been on record as such because they weren’t able to keep writing good songs in that lane. they simply weren’t a very good traditional rock band lol

again, as i said, oasis could not write EIIRP or pyramid song. radiohead can’t write rock and roll star or cast no shadow. one is not “better” or more valuable than the other.

Tbf those people are wrong and In Rainbows is the best but that gets dangerously close to an album ranking so I'll stop

they have one good traditional rock record and then they started incorporating more things when they hit writer’s block, I really don’t see how that’s a critique, reinventing yourself cause you got tired of your old sound and couldnt make another inspired album that sounds like the Bends if you tried is in no way a bad thing. Glad they acknowledged it and moved on to some stuff that’s actually more definitive for them and not as easily emulated.
