I think Radiohead actually fucking sucks. That’s a take I’ll stand behind. Have never heard a Radiohead song that makes me want to endure another second of their music. Hyperbolic? Maybe. Don’t care. Also what grimace said about Palestine.

 

i think podcasts and music people like ronald mcdonald and cole cuchna have placed a premium on the importance of radiohead because their innovation. which is obviously sick. but that doesn’t make the music always incredible to listen to or necessarily better than more pared down songs instrumentally that are just written better

 

I know plenty of Oasis and there is a large gap between Radiohead and them musically, do not quote

and let’s be real I doubt the Gallaghers are repping liberation for Palestine either, too busy talking about themselves all the time

If you told me at the beginning of my forum life that in 2025 I'd be witnessing a debate in regards to Radiohead and Oasis...I'd actually fully believe it that totally lines up, it's kinda nice to have that consistency throughout the internet age

 

Kid A is basically the only “bleep bloop shit” they have several other albums made mostly with rock instruments haha

 

and, again, radiohead could not write columbia or champagne supernova or live forever in their wildest dreams lol

Tired of that critique, just say you don’t like Kid A and it didn’t age as well as the music community predicted it would when it was a very subversive album for a huge band to make at the time. That’s reasonable, saying Radiohead is annoying cause all they do is bleep bloop shit is willfully obtuse

 

Radiohead had a Brit pop phase that was plenty good. And then they wrote songs like Go To Sleep that both rip/rock and are catchy but ALSO have awesome instrumental detail and play with time signatures that Oasis are simply not even capable of as musicians

I like a band that can do both over a band that’s one or the other, sue me

 

pablo honey - legitimately bad

the bends - probably the one of theirs i go back to the most and closest to oasis but oasis does this sound much better

ok computer - legitimately great

kid a and amnesiac - exhausting music for dorks whose favorite movie is inception

hail to the thief - underrated but wouldn’t call it great

in rainbows - legitimately great

the king of limbs - embarrassing

Radiohead nor Oasis could write Nookie, Break Stuff, My Way

Hail to the Thief is great, Amnesiac and Kid A aren’t as esoteric as you make them out to be they each have like a COUPLE weird songs, and Inception is a good movie you hater lol

Kid A is fantastic and this feels like revisionist history because they suck as people.
