Let’s just make it easy and say if they were in the last four drafts or a first round pick in the fifth draft they qualify

No I was mostly curious about defense and wouldn’t have balked at Daniels or stroud one bit

 

Part of me is very tempted to pick Gibbs or Bijan in anticipation of the return of the run game (and generally how much everything can open up when you can run the ball in the first place)

But it is not the "value" pick for sure, it'd be fiscally irresponsible in comparison to a top WR

 

Daniels is injury prone and Stroud is average

 

Stroud hasn't played long enough to be locked as average IMO (but yeah is trending that way)

But I get it. I just think that when it comes to picking someone like Drake Maye they could easily have a down year like Stroud that soon and we could end in the same discussion next year

Either way Maye is the pick though yeah

 

Gibbs and Warren are such fun picks. Two of my favorite players in the league

 

Stroud is kinda mirroring Baker Mayfield right now. Taking over, reviving the franchise a bit, major steps down the next couple of years because flaws are exposed in both coaching and the player

That's not to say he is Baker Mayfield. I think it's pretty proven that Mayfield just fell victim to the Browns and Panthers. But if we locked Baker back then we'd be lookin pretty dumb now

 

Speaking of which I watched that one Baker vs Mahomes game yesterday while working and holy shit, while both QBs were incredible, Joe Mixon really does not get enough credit for that game. It's looked at as the QB battle but Mixon was the actual standout there. Shame that he's the worst

 

Part of me had the thought "What if I picked Travis Hunter for defense" just to double up but 1. it's early, 2. he's already hurt which is a worry about the 2-way role, and 3. corner is not nearly valuable enough without a pass rush to prop em up in the current era

But I think if you got to pick 2 defensive players he'd be my #2 for sure
