Sick instrumentation in here, loving the loud rapid / high reverb guitars, reminds me of a surf punk band called Daikaiju. Tones are great especially the bass tone. Your erratic use of vocals is awesome as well, kinda La Dispute kinda Head Automatica in approach, but tonally your shouting actually sounds more to me like Tim Kasher’s more erratic moments (just saw Cursive!) I would say the lower vocals kinda get buried under all that distortion and mixing those parts differently so they kind of echo in the background with some room reverb and some EQ on that reverb (cut the low mids, boost the middle-treble range) would help that a lot while still providing that post-punk morose affectation. I would also say that if I was listening to a whole album of your stuff, since this song has that fast punk beat mostly the entire time I would wanna hear a rhythmic change up on the next track. But really cool ideas / blend of styles and a very awesome overall vibe.
Wrote a second thing about a second album https://medium.com/@dustinlikesthings/ep-polyphia-the-most-hated-9dbeafab857f
Thanks for listening Randall! really appreciate the feedback. I did eq the verb but Ill create a separate bus for the different vocal parts next track, I did also want the bridge vocals buried lol. You can check out some rhythmic variation on the other track I posted ;) Grim said I sound like Cursive too but im not very familiar with them
send me other track I didn’t see it! And I thought the lower vocals were before the bridge but I could be mistaken The album The Ugly Organ is the cult classic and my favorite but your music sounds a little closer to Domestica
But really the shouting vocals are what REALLY remind me of Tim Kasher, y’all have similar vocal timbres in that upper range even though the lower register is totally different
Doing a Home Alone 1 and 2 party with the kids tomorrow. The first one is Noah's favorite Christmas movie. Otherwise, we've been slacking big time on watching Christmas stuff this year.
