my favorite thing was my Japanese teacher for 3 years in High School could never not call me Tyler. She spoke good english, had my name written out in front of her, she didn't give a shit. she'd probably fit in good here with that bit.

Just Spanish for me

 

yeah, we had spanish, french, german, latin, and japanese. big school. I can't speak even a little bit of Japanese these days or even understand it if someone talked to me lol

 

In hindsight I really should've taken spanish, but I had such a horrible time in Junior High with a specific teacher that I wanted to do something different.

 

I took 4 years of German and remember almost nothing. I’m 60 some days into Spanish on Duolingo and have retained most of it.

 

do you find Duolingo is worth it overall? I've thought about trying it out

 

I wish my school had the options for another language besides Spanish. German would've been fun for sure.

 

yeah I just have the free version so I only do it like 3-5 minutes a day but it’s definitely working and it’s fun

 

I took spanish from like 5th through 12th grade and at one point was relatively fluent in it, but so so much of it has completely fallen out of my head since leaving high school and not actively practicing it lol

 

I unfortunately only really learned kitchen spanish lmao

 

5th grade? It wasnt even a class until high school for us. That's pretty cool though

I took Latin all four years like a true American.

 

In middle school we did Spanish for bit in 6th grade, French in 7th and German in 8th and then you could pick one in high school if you wanted.
