I agree, obviously, though I guess I was unclear. The people being like “well thank goodness it wasn’t paramount at least” seem very stupid. Who gives a shit that one billionaires company outbid another. If anything, while it would further monopolize stuff, skydance/paramount at least wouldn’t kill the theatrical movie experience like Netflix will lol
My high school math teacher was a cowboys fan. Very low down on the list of wild high school teachers, but she would just sit at her desk eating chips and watching cowboys highlights while we all self taught logarithms to ourselves. And when it came time to the test and handing the grades tests back to us, she would read everyone’s grade out loud in a very dramatic way
is there a world where netflix buys out one of these major theater companies and has their own movie theaters as well? like, is that the only path to saving the theater experience?
They do have their own theaters but only in LA and NY I believe and they won’t do that in a way to be a chain nationwide because they actively don’t want you going to theaters even if they own them
