It's not a sense of humor thing. It's only natural to be mad if a player from another team "attacks" a player for the team you root for. So saying you wouldn't care is hard for me to believe.
I think he'd care in the sense of wanting his team to retaliate but not really care if the league had shit to say about it if that makes sense
