Best run defense, best special teams, still a solid secondary even with Travis and Murray hurt, much better weapons now with Meyers here, Parker ascending and Strange healthy, most points on the road, 3-0 on the west coast, much better QB play when we’re trailing, and only not 10-2 by a very very narrow margin in two of the games. there are a lot of reasons to believe the Jags are gonna put up a fight in the playoffs. Some of the adversity we’ve faced this season is totally self inflicted but we have responded to adverse situations pretty damn well under Liam.
And beating the Chiefs and 49ers and absolutely stomping on the Chargers, those are all really encouraging wins as well. If I see us beat the Colts convincingly I’m sold on us being competitive for the foreseeable future.
We’ve been inconsistent this year but I think some of those growing pains are behind us now that Trevor has more good weapons healthy / available and has had more time to settle into Coen’s new offense. If he can’t play better with Meyers and BTJ and Strange + Anton Harrison back healthy, that’s a huge red flag but by all means our offensive struggles should start to level out and reduce the pressure on our defense.
