Asking that the refs allow my favorite team one last possession in overtime if they’re down when the clock hits 0:00 at the end of the fourth

Rules are objective and i just want to see that treated as such. Football at least has reasons for error but like, there's just no excuse for baseball to have stats on how umps call things.

Honestly if they just fired Angel Hernandez their miss rate would be in a waaaaaaay more acceptable place.

It's just so wild to me to have the technology, USE the technology, but actively ignore it.

Ill actually disagree with this. The point of overtime is that tie games suck, they want definitive winners, and it kind of even wrecks things like playoff spots (where an 8-8-1 team has an advantage an 8-9 team despite not winning more). If ties are acceptable, you just simply dont play OT at all.

The rule change is bad, much like the forced TD rule change, because if you want to not lose on the first possession of OT, you should win in regulation. I have zero sympathy for a team that loses a coin toss that couldnt get it done in 60mins; and its not a fairness issue, as both teams had 60 minutes to win the game.

THat said, with where they are...added together with the kickoff rules...they might as well just adopt the college system but disallow field goals.

I haven't seen it in use so I can't really rail against it too hard. The clips I saw in Spring Training where guys were winning challenges by a stitch on the ball or shit like that, that was bugging me. But I'm prepared to believe that was them fine tuning the system if that hasn't been the regular season experience so far.

I do love the way tennis does it; where the crowd even does a whole build up to where the ball actually hit. But its of course pretty limited.

All of these systems should be easy to implement because every sport has fixed dimensions for these things. NFL fields are all the same size. Baseball diamonds are all the same size. Its an easy engineering challenge compared to, say, a baseball home run review where every stadium is different and there's weird ass rules like "hit this steam pipe vent and its a HR!"
