Installed some new coat hooks in my entry way, folded a bunch of laundry, did the dishes, played 3 rounds of a board game, and white people taco’d for dinner.
Also my chickens are all back to laying everyday, which is fantastic.

Story of my life

 

first 2 are diabolical, but we had something similar to the third one. Two guys (investors I think) show up 2 hours late for our open house and acted surprised when we told them no, you aren't coming in, it was 2 hours ago.

 

The crazy part is they never even asked! Beads only knew they were there because she heard their kids playing in the yard. Like, that’s psychotic.

 

We did have a shit ton of people show up for the open house which was positive at least. Hoping we pull some offers in

 

My wife and I are sick so we’re watching that tournament of champions with Guy Fieri

 

About to go pick up burgers from our favorite place that is closing (RIP) and watch basketball.

My first Saturday filling in as lead sommelier with the actual Somm on vacation

holy shit that was hectic lol, constantly moving back and forth from my section to wine service for other servers across the restaurant. It was a very condensed service, 60 people came in about 2 hours flat, so I had to MOVE to make sure no table in my section waited too long for me AND to make sure I got wine on other tables before entree courses.

but I was pairing wines like mf, sold like 20-25 bottles tonight. I got a party of 13 to spend $1200 on wine lmao and pretty much got extra tip on EVERY table that had gratiity (hotel guests, tables over 6 people, and people with coupons).

the party ordered:

3 bottles of French white Burgundy
(Chartron et Trebuchet, Rully 2021)

2 bottles of Napa Valley CA Chardonnay
(Far Niente 2013)

3 bottles of Willamette Valley OR Pinot Noir
(Coeur de Terre, McMinnville vineyard 2018)

1 bottle of French red right-bank Bordeaux
(Lasseague St Emilion 1er Cru 2013)

I came to work early to pick out like 2-3 bottles in every category that pairs well with their food to recommend, and was so well prepared when they got here at 5PM to discuss wines I didn’t even need the wine book, just told them a few options and their prices off the top of my head for each category they requested. These are not cheap bottles either, they are $120, $150, $95 and $175 respectively
