I am going to say something no one cares about and may rub some the wrong way (not sexual).

When I was lurking this thread trying to decide if I should post in it or not, the main thing that kept me from actually posting at first were these Randall vs. [insert pretty much anyone here] arguments. I have made it a point to completely stay out of them with the exception of a couple snarky comments if I come in in the middle or just after one, but since it's come up again, I figured I'll just throw these 2 cents out there.

I am not mad at anyone and don't even really know what this one is about, I just see it continuing to come up.

And for what it's worth, I love everyone in here

I'm gonna pick on @JoshIsMediocre for a second. Love him to death but sometimes he can be a little stinker. And sometimes he and I will argue or I'll take something he says the wrong way and be bothered by it.

It's okay to just block someone for a bit. It's okay to walk away from the keyboard. It's okay to pick up a guitar and simply do something else.

Can you imagine the eyeroll you'd have if I was here four days later still complaining about Sean not liking my Daniel Jones joke? Just stop.

 

what do I do next time? Just let the thread run away with a massive misinterpretation of what I’m trying to say? Would that make it better than me trying to clarify what I actually mean?

i actively try not to be a bad guy on this site because of how i was like a decade ago, to the point where it still gets brought up to me all these years later, and seeing shit like this makes me feel like i’m losing my mind

 

I think accepting "ya know, it's not that important and no one is even gonna think about this in a day or two" is better than "if you will please turn your attention to slide #47 of my grievances"

And if it comes up again then fine sure correct it. But moving on is okay.

you have said, a hundred times, how you're trying to get better at the way you post and come across in situations like this. truly there has been no visible improvement. its always a weird argument and then you walking things back hours later or the next day and trying to be rational when the damage is already done and people dont wanna hear it because theyre still annoyed with the way you handled it from the jump. i really am trying not to be an asshole here, you seem to actually want a response to this. the only thing i can actually think of is maybe type out your reply and then walk away for a little bit and then come back and see if its still what you wanna say.

the constant picking back up the argument the next day because you now realize you could have said something differently is so tiring and at a certain point even seems a little disingenuous. nobody is perfect and we can all be guilty of being "little stinkers" from time to time, but like, just one time maybe learn from one of these situations??????
