It wasn't a gotcha. You can settle down Sean. Juan Soto is still a Met. Dink and I can talk about a theoretical trade without having to be GMs ourselves, but if we were GMs I'm confident we wouldn't be the worst ones lol

 

I think being armchair GMs is about having ideas and we can totally have valid, reasonable ideas that are better than actual GMs, while not having the execution ability that actual GMs have that is required to make those ideas even humanly possible because ideas are cheap

 

i am confident that we would be worse than the 32 people employed as nfl gms

Like yeah we can have ideas that are good, can we talk other GMs into it? Can we not get ripped off in other negotiations? Can we build those relationships? Can we make sure the contract is good and the player wants to be here? No not really

But I don't think that makes the ideas invalid

My team traded Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis and 1 pick on the same 24 hour span that DeAaron Fox got traded for 3 firsts so like I am confident that I can have better ideas than a GM even if I couldn't actually make them happen

I admittedly need to figure out a better way to express my frustration with the way some people talk here, because this is *not* what I have been trying to say.

We all operate in our opinions at a mostly surface level, we do not know or have to deal with players at a human level, etc

GMs are pretty much nonstop, I dont necessarily envy the position of actually having to do it and everything else the job entails, much funner as a hobby/couch GM
