Eh I disagree. I feel like every time I’ve fought with items it’s been ALL ABOUT items & it’s not balanced. I liked that you could treat Smash Melee like a cartoon version of Tekken. Sometimes I liked items but not always

 

i downloaded jedi survivor a couple weeks ago and haven't started it

still need to play god of war ragnarok

i'm still too into turning my brain off and playing college football I guess

 

man i used to get my ass RIPPED OPEN in tekken

dont know why i ever tried to play it

i hate it, if my company didn't do this my wife and i would always be paid on alternating fridays

 

yeah i can't do any kind of fighting game honestly

 

Balancing Smash is dumb because it's about being able to have whoever you want be viable and do cartoonish fun shit IMO

Would rather it be allowed to be fun and have other games be actually competitive

 

I played a show at BlerdCon (black nerd convention) last year and while I was there I went to the video games section and literally beat 9 people in a row in 3 different versions of Tekken lmao. I had no idea I was that good at that game

 

I love Tekken

I'm like a below average player but I enjoy it so much

 

I do not understand the New England Patriots

I always think of Tenchu when Tekken is brought up. Man that was a great game on PS2

 

Tenchu was wild

Sekiro is the modern Tenchu btw, was literally originally made as a Tenchu successor, and it's one of the greatest games of all time, if you haven't played it

 

I just personally had the MOST fun with smash melee because you could make it as cartoony as you want but you could also take the strategy of fighting seriously because it was way more nuanced at that speed. My disagreement I guess lies in me thinking playing Melee competitively with people who didn’t play with items was also fun

Smash Melee did BOTH, the other games just feel like the point is to have a gentler learning curve which serves its own purpose but doesn’t engage me as much

 

I wish he was still good :(
He's from Yakima and played at Eastern Washington so it seemed sort of realistic.

 

I just don't like it because that also requires balancing it which makes certain characters unviable and I think that SSB being like a Nintendo theme park game makes that unappealing vs original IP games

Yeah I understand this argument, some characters def just “weren’t as good” in competitive melee

that said I lived on the same college dorm hall as a guy who was ranked #6 in Maryland at the time and every time we’d whine about a character not being that great, he would show us it’s a skill issue by selecting that player and beating our ass with them lol

the few times I beat that guy (Mike Shang was his name) I was so proud lol

Mike was fuckin unbeatable with Jigglypuff, his aim with that Rest move was killer and he’d jump in the air and do it to you airborne when you least expect it

he was a pro at wave dashing & could like warp all around you like sonic does to a robot, he was amazing at spiking you off the map and staying alive etc. still in awe at how he played that game haha

 

Could not recommend it more

It is "difficult" (I don't really think it's that difficult but I understand the thought behind why people find it difficult) but so rewarding
