I feel like me and Dave have both grown lol we used to bicker a lot more

 

super smash was fun when it was new-ish but ppl got really weird and competitive with it and it made me completely lose interest in it

 

I guess it happened back in November, but I'm not sure what changed so I need to dig into it.

 

People who play with 0 items have no souls and should just go to Guilty Gear Strive or whatever the actual competitive games are

I think Melee on GameCube was the only Smash game ever worth being sweaty about, but I do think the intricacies of combat in that specific game do warrant people taking it seriously

But then they nerfed all the stuff that made competitive melee challenging and fun, such as the speed of combat, ability to control your fall speed in the air, and while “wave-dashing” was an unintended glitch that comes from canceling a shield-and-roll at exactly the right time, it became a really crucial part of playing that game competitively and speeding up your attacks and feints. it became just a whatever game again when they changed all that for Brawl imo

 

I haven't really played it I just know I had friends who played it and they are sweaty players

It looks cool though it's on my Steam wishlist

 

Smash is really fun if you play with normal people, and horrendously not fun if you play with people who take it too seriously.

 

at first i thought this said "it looks cool on my steam wishlist" implying you'd never end up buying it lmao

 

I'm a degenerate who ranks my Steam wishlist based on how badly I want to play the game and Guilty Gear Strive is pretty high on it! Just waitin for the mood

 

I need to get back into playing video games again.

 

One of the only fun things about working at Gamestop was when Smash was getting released, they wanted the demo to have all of the characters unlocked and instead of just getting a version sent to them pre-set up like that, they paid all of their retail staff overtime to throw a pizza party and play the game relentlessly after hours until everything was unlocked. It was awesome.
