I suppose I just misinterpreted things because of how often all my friends who work in offices are able to be online while they work lol and say “I left at noon today cause I had to handle _____” and I’m like damn I can’t ever do that

gotta go to another room just to be on my phone and I only get away with that cause my timing is good and my guests never complain about service taking too long. It would become an issue if I ever had an issue with giving slow service

i have 3 monitors and a tv mounted in my office. i can multitask.

i do leave early, liberally, when I know things are taken care of. if it's earlier than like, 2:30, I let my boss know

my boss also doesn't work in the same state that I do and trusts that I'm getting stuff done.

i am very lucky

i still would not leave for 3 hours in the middle of the day to go see a movie lol

 

Well, at least she would be someone to potentially get a call on Veteran's Day?

 

I always joke with my family and friends about Flag Day lmao I'm just like "do you guys want to go Flag Day caroling" and one day someone will call my bluff

 

25 years into parenthood after 24 years of not expecting or receiving it?

My job comes with the benefit of getting off work when I feel like it and a lot of office workers have nowhere near the leeway with time off I do.

but the part where yall are in here literally all day posting and watching movies / playing videogames / taking care of errands and babies etc during the work day, is the part where I got confused like “shit so yall can just check out for 2 hours and come back and finish end of day tasks and meetings, no problem?”

my neighborhood has a family that puts out flags for the US centric holidays and we're like 1 of 5 houses that don't pay for it lmao.
