My work is like an in between where they require 2 weeks but don't enforce it at all unless someone else got the PTO first and it just causes a ton of confusion

 

I'm a huge introvert, but going to the movies is something i'm always in the mood to do.

 

I'm here to help you. no plan is foolproof and i'm going to show you the flaws.

 

Unless its a movie I have to see in theaters, I usually just wait until they're streaming.

Never did get an answer to how assigned seating works when buying at the booth, by the way. Just FYI

you get to choose. they show you a screen and you pick what you want of what's available

I don’t think you can buy tickets from a person at the two theatres I go to. You just use the kiosk.

Buying at the booth is like buying on the app just on a bigger screen and with the employee being annoyed as hell with your boomer ass.

I really could not work an office job that was stupid about that kind of stuff lol. I just don’t see a reason why a salaried worker who effectively completes their weekly tasks every week, and works an average of full time hours every week they aren’t on vacation, and doesn’t miss meetings etc, can’t just take a couple hours here and there when they know they are ahead of schedule. If they can make salary workers work 50-60 hours a week when it’s stupid busy that really should go both ways. You’d rather your employees fucking around on chorus fm in the office when they’re not busy than just be realistic about the situation? And wtf does “unlimited PTO” mean then? lol

my job can suck in the sense that I can’t come late or leave early and I can’t sit on my phone even when it’s slow, but I do like that they never give me a hard time about time off and I legit can get off work randomly when it’s slow and they don’t need everyone staffed (provided we are fairly rotating those “cut” days with other servers who also might want off)

Just so we're all on the same page, I'm now fully with Randall. If I can't buy a ticket at the booth without going through the process of picking a seat, I say we get rid of assigned seating all together

 

how would that work mark? Everyone but your old ass has an assigned seat and then people have to keep kicking you out of their seat when they come into the theater?

 

When I’m burned out and need a mental health day and have enough money to pay my bills, I can just look at the schedule and ask for whatever the slowest day is off work, 50% of the time I get it. That’s real valuable to me and I really liked hearing from SOME office workers they can occasionally finish their tasks & respond to their memos early and take a half day or a long lunch. If I couldn’t do that, then that illustrates part of the reason I’ve stuck with my career field instead of going straight and narrow with a tech job. Stuff like that is sometimes more valuable to me than making extra money, hustle culture too extreme in the US.

 

Somehow we manage, by getting assigned seating for movies at times when we're not at work

 

I don’t wanna hear about how to “fix” going to the movies but someone who goes once every 4 years get outta here
