the big AMC near me still has old-school seats, but does do assigned seats. the smaller Regal has both.

 

I believe the theater up the street from me does not have assigned seats, but they do recline

 

Couldn't say for sure, though because I haven't been there since Escape Plan came out

 

the 2 closest AMCs to me don’t have assigned seats and one doesn’t have reclining seats, that’s part of the reason I’m a Cinemark Man.

 

man, I miss Alamo Drafthouse. I'm pretty shocked there isn't one here in the town I live in yet. We have AMCs and a place called Cinepolis, but the last movie I saw in theatres was Birds of Prey a few weeks before Covid lmao

 

We just went to Alamo on Sunday, it was my first time since 2019 and it was great

 

I used to live like 2 miles from the one on Skillman and Abrams. fucking Covid

 

I won’t go to a movie theatre that doesn’t do assigned seats

 

Cinemark is what got me into this way of thinking. sadly there isn't one nearby in Seattle. would have to go 20minutes into Bellevue. AMC and Regal are what's close to me.

 

I won't go to a theatre that requires me to pay for the whole seat when I only need the edge

yeah agreed. i wouldnt be happy about it but i think id be able to give up a reclining seat before advance seat selection

The thought of going to a movie with no assigned seats just gives me anxiety

 

I don't care about assigned seating at all. I also haven't been to the movies more than a couple times since it became a thing, though, so I'm probably not the demo they're after

serious question, though....if you buy a ticket at the ticket booth, do they just assign you a seat or how does that work? Or is everyone buying online?

 

It sells out because you take too long filling out the check you're paying for the tickets with
