oh, at this point I will be going to a guitar center or another music shop and buying one if I decide to pick it back up. nothing like testing out some guitars and walking out with one

I am just venting to yall because he came at me sideways and acted like I don’t support the scene and I felt insulted by it. I’m not gonna like get on a loudspeaker or post it on Facebook or even be honest with the guy himself about how it made me feel.

 

I just think people who may or may not listen to you are on here too and it impacts your brand, not just in a way that impacts whether they listen to you but also in a way where it impacts how much they want to promote you. You're right about everything in the actual discussion. It's just worth it to be bigger and vent somewhere more private IMO

 

thats a good point, to be fair I feel like that damage has already been done and my indignant rants in here ALREADY dissuaded people from supporting or listening to my art, so. I am maybe too unfiltered in here, but it’s because those of yall who are close with me are some of the people I really trust, and it gives me comfort to let all pretenses down in front of those people. But you’re right that this is more public than like a discord, and has lurkers, and has people who are more so acquaintances or casual friends, and has people who haven’t been here for years and are still actively making decisions about how much we like and trust each other, etc

 

tbh it would be WILD for someone random to approach randall at a show and tell him they discovered him from the NFL thread on chorus.fm

I think it's moreso people in the NFL thread choosing whether or not to listen to Terrain and then after the fact whether or not to show the music to lots of others based on how Randall's approached things but yeah it WOULD be wild for that to happen

 

I'd mostly be concerned that people in the NFL thread were actually supporting local music

 

I care too little about filtering myself around my friends and that’s definitely a problem and one of my biggest spaces for personal growth as far as accountability and reducing social conflict goes

on the flip side, you could never say that I put on an act so that people will like me and listen to my music lol. I can’t not be genuine.
