Okay, poll time. Am I crazy for being mad?

I think I’ve posted enough about the issues with my uncle and his family so I won’t rehash, but long story short is there are a lot of bad feelings between my family and his. To the point where we’re dead to them and dad doesn’t want them at his funeral.

Tonight they donated $1,500, the 3rd largest donation of the fund and did so publicly. I’m the only one in my family mad about, the rest are like “meh, whatever.”

but my thing is like “fuck your money, if you can’t bother be a decent person, I’m not really interested in your performative “look how great of a family member I am” bullshit.

I am probably not giving any help or advice at all but I wanted to share my similar story like this. My uncle has a brother and 2 sisters that they basically cut all contact with him. He had told his wife before he passed to not invite them to his funeral cause they treated him like crap.

she ended up inviting them to the funeral cause “she rather them get a sense of closure, just for losing a brother.” then listen to her husband request.

they ended up going to the funeral and crying and being sad and then a few days later going back to hating his family and never talking to them. I know she did the request out of being nice but I thought they never deserved that sense of fake closure.

 

Take the money but don’t acknowledge them
