Some pretty flat patties for not being smashed.

a smashburger does not have to be a certain thinness. The difference is do you smash it on a flat top with a spatula to flatten it out and make it crispy on the outside, or do you use more egg/breadcrumb to keep its thickness to seal in more juices. the amount of meat does not matter in either instance. But a non smashed burger is not that flat and round.

I think the point of a smash burger is the thinness. So that the edges get crispy. Who’s putting bread crumbs in their smash burgers.

but you’re spending Wendy’s prices on a shake shack quality burger that’s just presented in the “big ‘Merican messy burger” style rather than a refined style. It’s the perfect in between of good burger but not pretentious and overpriced. That rules.
