There's a few here in my town that have been painted different colors, even one being iridescent, and holy hell they look even worse modified. I immediately know the person driving it is a massive chode who think they're the coolest, but it's just a dweeb who wears socks with sandals.

 

I see one every few weeks and I do a double take every time. Hate it.

 

The worst part is every Tesla drivers acts like the coolest ever and they drive like trash

I'm amazed every time I get stuck behind one how terrible of a driver they always are. Always 10 below the speed limit, not paying attention, riding the fuck out of their brakes.

 

Idaho is very confused on this. They are anti electric car but suddenly very pro Musk. I see a different CyberTruck, no exaggeration, 10 times a day.

The pre-order is simply a better way than kickstarter or GoFundMe to help finance the printing of the vinyl and mastering the tracks for vinyl. I don’t need a lot of pre-orders to do this, less than 100 would do the trick. The pre-order is not aimed at random people who haven’t heard Terrain. In all my time touring and making good friends with people online / that I’ve met on tour, there definitely are several hundred people who have heard me play live more than once who have remained invested enough in my progress to be interested in the vinyl. if 60 to 80 of them actually buy it ahead of time then I can afford to print like 200 of them a lot sooner than I would be able to afford to on my own budget. and that’s the goal.

 

I wish the US could normalize 32 hour work weeks because god it’s so nice to do that

I actually did a 35 hour work week this week but last week was 32 and it’s cool

 

just saw a Tesla parked at Walmart with the license plate saying INSAN 1

 

I like this better than Kickstarter because I don’t have to meet some arbitrary goal. I can see how many pre-orders we get, and then based on that I can set a more realistic timeline and budget for getting them printed, and make decisions about how many to print and how many features to include, plan ahead for how much of my own money needs to be committed, etc.

 

I saw one yesterday that put one of those truck bed camper things on the back and it somehow looked even dumber

 

I forgot I had a meeting on my schedule today, so I guess they'll get to enjoy my Modern Baseball t-shirt instead of appropriate meeting attire.

 

The exact opposite experience here

 

@Literal i was at Walmart getting some sodas for a barbecue later with some coworkers and I got a end of a restock lol

someone already grabbed all the etbs but a bunch of tins, poke balls and that chest thing

oh I didn’t grab anything today like every two weeks I’ll buy some cards but usually the pokemon booster bundles or the $25 heritage ones

i was gonna type a longer thing from the perspective of someone who worked at a label but i’m not trying to turn this into a. thing. hopefully the people you’ve played shows with show out for ya.

 

Haha well I’m not talking about the musicians I’ve played shows with for the record - I actually am talking about people who really like my band. Keep in mind I’ve lived and pursued music in Jacksonville, Baltimore and DC as Terrain’s home base (and made a few connections with Atlanta music scene while I was there) and also this isn’t my only online community where I have very good / lifelong friends.

So most the people who would buy one are people who really know me and my creativity/talent personally, and then you hopefully add in a handful of folks who loved us on tour and still interact with all our stuff online.

 

I’m also planning to pass out fliers with QR codes on the back that link to our vinyl pre-order on our upcoming tour, and that way maybe the messaging will be more direct than hoping they see the post on social media and they see it as a “merch item” they can buy to support our tour. That feels a lot more likely than hoping we can get a few pre-orders from people after the fact on our April tour.

 

The show tonight as well, we’re headlining a Friday night at one of the best local venues, I feel fairly confident I can get some of our most consistent Baltimore music scene supporters to preorder it today

all this to say I have a plan lol I’m not just posting it and hoping random people donate like the first post seemed to insinuate and I’m not just looking for pity donations from other bands we’ve played with lol
