I only get annoyed with my pockets when I’m at work and have to carry 2 phones around

 

Yeah I was like I can practically get a handgun out of a safe in emergency

A shotgun would require SO much to handle safely and would be so impractical

Phone wallet and keys make my pockets too bulky. Plus I would like to be able to carry things such as eye drops, tissues, etc. I don’t want to carry around a big backpack and pockets aren’t enough.

That's a big thing too, it's not as much as "how much are you usually carrying" as it is "what else CAN you carry now that'd be convenient since you have a bag"

Not to get into a gun debate or go hard on gun talk, but handguns are good and more practical for protection out of the house. Shotgun is best for in home defense because you can be accurate at a longer range and depending on the type of shell you're using you don't need to be extremely accurate to get a hit. Your adrenaline will be pumping which will make it harder to aim a handgun in that situation.
