honestly i didn’t watch skeleton key so i wont judge that outside of hearing it was bad from reviews. at this point i need to hear from non-nerds (not saying you guys, just like, IGN lol) that it’s good in reviews before checking it out because their batting average is terrible at this point

andor is legit good though and better than anything marvel has done post endgame

Film/Video/Professional Communications. I started at Film/Video and then once I joined the club and started doing the concert promotion I added in Pro Comm and focused on Marketing. So I have a double degree and was one class away from a political science minor too.

there are plenty of things i refuse to be objective about bc of nostalgia, most of them music related, but idk how you can thing most any recent star wars stuff is good at all without acknowledging it’s just nostalgia-baiting you

I'm not sure what distinction you're making. I went to Fitchburg State which I doubt anyone here has heard of, but it has one of the best reputations out there for a technical understanding of film making.

i didn’t mean anything personal by it. just that most schools have a film studies degree, very few have a filmmaking degree. the title of the program you mentioned sounded like a former but if it’s how you’re describing it now, it sounds more like the latter. which is cool!!!

Oh yeah, it's definitely the ladder. The running joke is "Emerson [another fantastic program in MA] kids can tell you all the theory and concepts behind why you light a scene a certain way, but absolutelty shit themselves when you hand them a light. Fitchburg kids have no idea why something works, but the shoot always ends up looking right."

there’s a pretty highly renowned film school in NC (danny mcbride/david gordon green/some others went there) that i’ve considered in the past going to for like a stand alone degree to apply some actual technical knowledge to the hobby outside of just buhhh i like da movies but then every time i come close i keep knocking megan up

I considered taking some courses on the craft side of film production a few years ago. But didn’t. Obviously.

ahh that makes sense. so almost more for cinematography/tech type stuff vs directing/creatives type stuff. cool!

It's objectively interesting if you're into the movies. Like don't try and make a career out of it becuase Hi Elf, but understanding lighting, sound design and post production is fascinating.
