Been promoting my show like crazy. I’ve passed out flyers to:

-people at the Pool Kids show (including the drummer and bassist of the first band AND the drummer of Pool Kids lmao. I am NOT supposed to do this and coulda got kicked out if security caught me)

-coworkers in multiple departments of the hotel I work in, including morning servers, kitchen, spa, and concierge

-any customers at work that look around my age and express more than just polite interest when I passively mention I’m in a band (I am NOT supposed to do this lol so I’m making sure not to do this in front of my boss or to anyone who would complain)

-people at Porchfest in DC yesterday evening

-every single person at Brewer’s Art last night (after beer 2 I mustered the courage to briefly talk to random people about it and it wasn’t that bad lol, kept it short sweet and polite and people admired the guts & hustle.)

Tonight I will be passing them out to all the regulars I know at Kisling’s tonight during the Orioles game and later on at 1919, a punk music bar nearby. This week I’ll be going to two other Ottobar shows after work and trying to get some passed out to folks as they’re leaving, I’ll also be going to the Depot open mic tomorrow to give a few to any friends who are still there late.

i have also posted about it:
-several times on instagram including paid boost posts, “collab” posts with Ottobar themselves, and stories
-in every musicians discord I’m in
-in the Pool Kids discord as well
-several times on Facebook including my own profile, Terrain’s profile, and in 10 different DMV area “diy/ local shows” groups

I still don’t think I can sell Ottobar out with two weeks notice with all this effort, it’s a 350 cap venue. but tbh the goal is really for all 5 bands to draw at least 100, on a night that would’ve just been 0 without us, because a huge nearly-sold-out show they were already promoting the shit out of got cancelled.

If we can do that - and I’ve drawn 78 people by MYSELF before - we will be IN with Ottobar as a band that is serious enough about promo / keeping them in business to open for much bigger bands.
