2025-2026 NFL Season: Donnie What? Football • Page 1354

  1. Round 1: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

I’ve kinda already shared that I wasn’t super crazy about this pick on Thursday night. But as the rest of the draft unfolded, it ended up being great strategy from Dan Morgan. I still think McMillan comes with some risk and a couple concerns, but the upside/ceiling is phenomenal. I like the general idea of: Bryce is a very precise/accurate thrower + McMillan’s insane catch radius and hands = a very hard connection to defend. Ideally, Bryce will be able to place the ball in spots where only McMillan can get it, and he will actually get it. And then you start to consider his playmaking ability. He could be a fantastic addition to the offense and really open things up for everyone around him.

Side-note: It’s been reported that Bryce was pounding the table for McMillan to be the pick. AND the two have already been working out and doing drills together prior to the draft. It may not ultimately mean anything, but it’s nice to see them already building some chemistry.

Day 2: Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M; Princely Umanmielen, EDGE, Ole Miss

Like I said, Friday night not only addressed a massive need, it also made our R1 pick even better value. Adding two first-team all-SEC pass rushers when our biggest need was a pass rusher - no complaints from me. And they complement each other very well. Scourton is more of bully-ball physical pass rusher; Umanmielen is a bit more of a bendy, athletic pass rusher. I’m not sure if either will make an immediate impact, likely why they fell to day 2, but I think both have very promising upside. Absolutely love it. Zero complaints. Crushed it.

Day 3: Trevor Etienne, RB, Georgia; Lathan Ransom, S, Ohio State; Cam Jackson, NT, Florida; Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame; Jimmy Horn Jr, WR, Colorado

***Disclaimer: I have no strong opinions on anything that happens on day 3. These are all dart throws imo but it’s still fun to talk about the potential/upside of the picks***

Day 3 starting out with Etienne was a surprise, but it seems like they timed it right because of the RB-run that happened around this time of the draft. I’m also a little surprised that the general consensus was that this was a bad pick. We don’t need an every down back or anything like that. But what we do need is a solid 3rd down back and ETN can certainly fill that role. Good pass catcher out of the backfield and great in pass protection, for a RB.

Ransom was also slightly unexpected. We needed a safety, but I was expecting more of a free safety type vs a hybrid-ish run stuffer. With that said, I get it. We were god awful against the run last year. I think PFF had Ransom as the highest rated run defender in college football. So yeah, makes sense. We can find a veteran to play FS for now.

Cam Jackson is a fun one. He’s a giant man and seems to move fairly well for his size. Another guy who specializes against the run. I think he can turn into a solid depth/rotational piece for the DL which is definitely needed.

Mitchell Evans is a guy that I didn’t look at too much prior to the draft. But maybe I should have. He looks like a nice find this late in the draft. I think this TE class being so stacked pushed him down farther than it would have most other years. Again, not expecting a pro-bowl caliber player, but he looks like someone who can be a nice depth piece and stick around for a few years - with the potential for more if his development goes well.

Throughout the entire draft season, I wanted us to take a shot at an upside WR with our last pick. And we definitely did that. Horn Jr is a little guy but looks like a fun player to have. I think he will make a strong case for our returner this year and has potential to carve out a role in the offense as well. He didn’t have the greatest 40 time, but he is very clearly a quick, slippery guy on the field. Excited to see how his develops and if he turns into anything.

    Notable UDFA:
    Jacolby George, WR, Miami
    Kobe Hudson, WR, UCF
    Luke Kandra, IOL, Cincinnati
    FSU Kicker

More WR dart throws. I think Hudson actually has a shot at making the team. Very surprised he wasn’t drafted. Same with Kandra. Thought he’d go middle rounds. But sometimes OL falls and I don’t know why. But a solid pickup after the draft. OL depth is always nice. I don’t remember the FSU kicker’s name, but I saw he was perfect on XP and FGs in 2024. Cool.

Overall, very hard to complain about how the draft played out for us. Addressed several needs and seemingly at good value. Can’t wait to see these guys play.

lmao Kiper gave out 1 A+ this year. Guess who it was?

  5. He gave Panthers a C+ because we didn’t draft a LB. Weirdo.

But I do think Kiper gets too much hate. I mean, the Shedeur stuff was embarrassing. But he got hate well before that. I think he’s incredibly good at his job. Obviously he has misses. So does everyone else lol

It's just funny they were the only ones with that top score after his crash out over the weekend. Just comes across slightly biased from him, even if it's warranted.

  8. Apologies in advance to most of you but I don’t find it very interesting mocking players to certain teams or any of that stuff that leads up to the draft. And people like Mel kiper getting mad and loud is dumb but that’s television baby.

more interesting to me is post draft analysis and explaining how players do or don’t fit the teams that drafted them.

  9. Basically 80% of sports television is people arguing with each other. So it’s strange people are so offended by that happening lol

The embarrassing part was how long he stayed on it and how personal he took it.

I had these air fryer tacos last night from Costco and they taste exactly like the jack in the box tacos so now I’m about ready to buy another box

    The rivalry is back on

My high level takeaways: fine draft, like the Warren and Tuimoloau picks, don’t think this is going to solve all our problems. Solid B-

I noticed this too, but Caserio had a good top of the draft in 2024, the guys he liked early just happened to be rated highly on RAS this year

  18. This clip is going viral and I prepared for something embarrassing. But like….what is so bad about this? They don’t want to talk about their personal lives. Why is that news?

Probably because the answer is something that will highlight how weird their age difference is, like “oh she’s my friend’s granddaughter”

  22. I get the intrigue with it all. And it is weird. But I don’t get why people care so much. It’s like the sports media are constantly prying at their relationship looking for a headline. It’s as weird as the relationship itself.

Idk. I get what you’re saying. But comes with being a public figure. Especially one known for being a stoic as Belichick lol

Also like most people don’t care outside of thinking an age gap like that is weird. But that’s not caring or following their relationship. It’s the media that cares, not most people, it’s a story they can keep coming back to.
The craziest part about that interview is him sitting down with 60 minutes or whatever that is wearing a shirt that makes him look like he just came in from doing yard work or something
