my stuff against Tet aside, there are just way more receivers that will be available to us at 57 and i don’t think there is equivalent edge talent that will still be on the board. i hope im wrong on him and he turns out but i would have vastly preferred edge then receiver vs. the other way around

I agree. But I also would be shocked if we don’t pick until 57. And I think that’s been the plan regardless of who we ended up with in R1. I expect us to be moving up tonight.

 

i dont really disagree with anything here, but there was absoolluutteellyyy nooo wayyy they were leaving this draft without one of the higher ranked QBs, so i'm mostly just trying to remain positive about it. i do think the price of the trade was worth the trade up, but it will feel like an all for nothing ordeal if they go 4-13 again and daboll is fired and the new coach wants to go a different direction with the QB.

so much of the giants situation makes no sense right now. daboll got his qb (we assume), but he's *probably* not gonna play, so daboll won't be able to "develop" him in-game, and will get fired when russ and jameis combine for 4 or 5 wins.

i just dont really understand it. the only way this move makes sense is if somehow daboll has gotten a 2-3 year stay of execution to see this through, which, doesnt seem super likely.

 

Yeah, it definitely is a move that makes more sense if Daboll and Co. have reassurances. And they might now. But things change quickly. So who knows.

 

I’ve also think that if you’re going to force yourself into a QB this draft, Milroe is the guy I’d take a shot on. But that wasn’t a realistic thing based on what we’ve been told all along.
