Parks & Rec is fun and entertaining and has aged terribly in a lot of aspects alongside having a lot of things that were already bad at the time

But also it's a network sitcom and if you're using that to inform and determine your politics then idk what to tell ya

We're in the middle of a rewatch right now coincidentally

It had been a while

 

parks and rec has aged fine, what was sort of bad then is still sort of bad now and i won't tell people how to feel about lowe, pratt, and aziz if thats a big factor for their rewatchability, your decisions are your own and are valid.

you’ll never guess what college team he just randomly happens to root for

 

Aziz's character is what I feel has aged badly in a lot of parallels between who he is as a person and his character

 

Ben Wyatt is a perfect TV character tho

 

Been a long time since I least watched Parks and Rec. Loved it a lot and I imagine I still would if I threw it on because I still love watching clips of it, but there were definitely some elements of it that did not hold up well over rewatches I did years ago. The character of Tom was definitely one of those things and the shit that came out about Aziz definitely leaves a bit of sour taste in my mouth when just thinking about the character

I've argued this before, but the Office has a much higher ceiling than Parks and Rec, but a muuuuuuuuch lower floor. Something like 50% of the Office is bad, where I can't really think of truly bad Parks and Rec. But Parks and Rec doesn't have the Dinner Party.

I actually have a like basically a tradition where one morning while I’m here in Coachella. I stop by the local mini mart and get a breakfast burrito and an Arizona iced tea and some flowers and then hang out at my grandma grave for like 30 minutes. It’s really peaceful there.
