    the seal is gonna get gross cause of mildew either way, but I never allow plates with food caked on them to go in the dishwasher. I use steel wool to scrape stuff off completely. Still a lot less work than actually trying to scrub the dishes if you’re compulsive about not missing a spot, the dishwasher can actually soap them more thoroughly and efficiently than you can by hand, but I also never have to worry about the dishwasher getting clogged up or gross

    This is how I am with a lot of chores and also a lot of side work tasks at work lol. I do not like stuff to be put away sloppy. Grinds my gears

    For sure but that buildup happens a lot slower than the “food bits” buildup at least

    I’ve just had roommates who put soiled dishes straight into the dishwasher expecting it to do all the work and magically vanish those “food bits” and I Do Not Like that. Just makes the dishwasher less and less effective over its lifespan and dishes start still being dirty after being dishwashed, etc

    Found a house in NH that wasn’t in a dumpy Trumpy area. It’s a small little ranch but has a big yard and cute neighborhood and practically is on MA border. Hmmmm
