this and many other reasons are why I basically never order food online lol. It’s a scam. I just call or go there directly if that’s not an option. I don’t wanna pay service charges AND delivery charge AND tip just for a middle man to steal most of that and the uber driver *still* ends up underpaid either lol

 

I’ll order food for delivery if it’s like torrential raining or if it’s below 15 degrees outside but other than that I’d legit rather spend the effort going to pick it up and knowing my order is right / not scrimped on

 

yeah i had a crisis of conscience during covid because i was strictly not supporting doordash which made me feel kinda bad bc people turned to that to try and make a buck but god its so much more expensive i always just called the bar or called the restaurant and placed our order and went to pick it up myself.

 

I order delivery too much because I’m lazy

 

I almost never order delivery. Would much rather just pick it up.

 

Don’t wanna leave my house if I don’t have to.

I hate ordering delivery but sometimes I wanna eat at home and I don’t have a car

One day I’ll make enough money to look at things this way lol. Just gotta keep my head down and focus on being a Somm and try my hardest every day not to be a dick or say my real opinions at work lol

 

It’s not even the money it’s just that it’ll take 4 times as long to get it delivered and it’ll be cold. Pick up is quick and on my time.

 

I’m still a dick occasionally when someone deserves it, another perk of the job is I won’t get talked to for:

1) telling one of the cooks to change his diapers and get back to me when he complained about a few drops spilled hot water on a floor that’s about to get mopped

2) telling that same passive aggressive cook “that’s what I thought” when he told me not to “hover over him” when I was quality checking food before it went out, and then he almost made a big mistake right in front of me

 

delivery is kind of a necessity when you have kids

 

I swear most of the time door dash/ uber eats is cold by the time gets to me, and I don’t want to reheat restaurant food before I eat it the first time.

Pizza is pretty much the only thing I’ll have delivered.

 

Yeah I could see that

 

i hate it and the upcharge for food that will be cold bc doordash is making drivers take five orders at a time sucks shit but sometimes, usually fridays, it’s easier to wait for dinner until after holly goes to bed and then it’s either i drive 10-15 after she falls asleep to get food or i can order delivery before bath time and it arrives right when she’s falling asleep

seeing Eddington on Sunday and gonna go ahead and get tickets for Fantastic Four next Sunday. Think we're firmly back seeing movies in theaters regularly
