Shit, I forgot another job lmao. I also tried to work at Maggiano’s in Jacksonville and I hated it, was like a more sloppy, less tasty, more crowded, way more labor version of Carrabba’s and it was in a super hectic hyper-suburban part of town FILLED with traffic, huge parking lots with literally no spots open, and plastic chain restaurants & stores. I like, hated society every time I drove to work at that job lol was never in a good mood

I got an opportunity to play at the Jacksonville Landing (a big outdoor shopping outlet / plaza with a huge events stage in the center, it’s now demolished), right on the water to hundreds of people and it was a slow night at work. I actually drove to work and asked them very nicely in person if I could be off. They said “if you don’t work tonight you don’t have a job anymore” and I said “thank god” and I left lol

retirement planner for public educators (totally qualified based on above experience right, got laid off)
assistant manager at cinemark (best job ever also worst job ever, quit when they took away PTO from managers)
assistant manager at vans (also best job while worst job, worked thru the initial pandemic waves 2019-2021 and was easily the most miserable time to be in retail or food service IMO)
site audit coordinator for solar installation place (solar companies are a scam, was desperate for a m-f job while finishing my BA, quit to focus on school)
hearst television (1st job post grad, worked on commercials, quit for current job)
podcast/radio company (pretty dope, wfh, but really poor leadership. grateful to have the gig though)

 

So I’ve actually had almost 30 jobs

The most delicious non-fine dining restaurant I worked at was definitely Superica. I still go back there when I visit Atlanta. Easily the best Tex Mex food I’ve had (haven’t had it in the southwest or in Texas tho)

the most lucrative non fine dining job I had was actually Ram’s Head Roadhouse, if you closed the restaurant you got like every single table from 9-12 and could easily make $300-$400 on a Thursday. But they fuckin fired me because they assumed the only black employee there was the one who stole money we were all supposed to split out of the tip jar (I didn’t and they had zero proof to think it was me)

Superica was a close second money wise, regularly made $200 on weeknights and $300+ weekend nights in the warmer months cause they were so goddamn busy all the time… but they fired me because I refused to work during the beginning of the pandemic when one of our coworkers got sick, they made him work anyway, and it turned out he had COVID.
