i've never looked into what the actual savings could be, any time i've thought about getting an EV it's just been "this seems cool" lol

 

am i correct in that your in laws have something to do with the car shop? am i making that up

 

Some of those jobs I worked at the same time, a good chunk of those jobs did not work out at all lol

It’s for sure a cool car, and I’m hoping more and more people will switch to an EV for climate reasons, it just sucks that there doesn’t seem to be a big difference over total ownership when you factor in the registration being nearly double (in Colorado, idk about elsewhere) and charging at home, my electric bill seems to be a wash in what I’d spend on gas

 

idk about colorado but in oklahoma you don't pay sales tax with the car purchase, you pay it upon first registration. so my Hornet was like 800 something, my wife's Trax was like 1100 or something

The MSRP is pretty high even though they give nearly $20k in incentives, they go by sticker price. EV’s also weigh a lot more than an ICE. Compound that with Colorado’s already high registration costs

 

Registration in PA is like 50 a year or something

man. in NYS first registration is like $200something and then every 2 years its like $170

 

Oh I did forget one lol. After Chart House I tried to work for another fine dining spot called Bistro X. I learned the entire menu in like 2 days and expected to be a server after my 1 week training. They tried to make me a busser / service assistant instead and I laughed in their face cause why would I take a job I’m overqualified for when I’d been a server 10 years and in fine dining for 2 of those

 

yeah my annual registration has been around $90 the last several years (while ive had a newer car) but was cheaper before with an older one
