I have a zoom interview on Friday, but after talking with my wife and thinking more about it, unless they can match my current salary or come within like 2-3K, I think I'm going to pass even if they make an offer.

It's longer hours, more work, less money and requires me to uproot my family, so even though it might be "worth it" in terms of cost of living, etc. It's not really worth it

 

I can already tell I won't use the laptop much. I have teams open on it at the moment, but can't think of another use for it. I'll still use my personal laptop when I want to watch a movie or something, though

 

cost of living is always going to slowly rise too, so taking a drastic pay cut now just because the local economy is in a certain place is still incredibly risky.

 

when my old company went full remote, so many people moved to other parts of the country because they could keep their new york salaries and annual raise schedules and live like kings and queens elsewhere. thats when i should have left, but, alas.
