Everyone at my work is an infant who needs me. Every day I get messages on Microsoft Teams that say "goo goo gaa gaa" because my coworkers don't know words or how to do things. I have to teach them to shit without a diaper and how to not cry and put them in timeout.

 

This is me at my job too, just different context

 

I had someone at work ask me a basic financial function of our software. That person is in charge of the implementation of the financial portion of our software

I had someone ask me for a general overview of how our software works. That person is one of our developers

I am the heart and soul of this software and when I suggest leaving they call Brinks

 

Yeah but did you have someone ask you every day for 3 months how to attach a file to an email?

 

Basically yeah

 

I would personally choose the frustration of someone who should know something, asking you,

than the frustration of someone who doesn’t know something being overconfident in trying to tell YOU about it, or the frustration of someone who never asks and just always does it fucking wrong even though you’ve told them the right way 87 times

I deal with those two at my job a lot lol

Like we have a totally useless server assistant who I literally have to redo 70% of his work cause he does it sloppy and half ass and constantly puts stuff in the wrong place

he’s not a mean guy but he has no excuse to not know better and try harder by now. I know I can’t make someone care more about a job than they do but the fact there’s no real accountability for that sucks. Earns 7.5% of the whole staff’s tips (plus a non-tipped hourly) just to set tables wrong and sloppy and sideways and bring poorly polished silverware and plates etc to all the wrong places and forget to put ice in the wine bucket etc
