I just don’t like the 2 minute run style on each level, I prefer the open world ones. Idk if 3 & 4 are the same as 1 & 2 but yeah

 

They are

4 was originally open world but the remake is in the 2 minute style

But I prefer the 2 minute style for THPS games, especially now since there's games like Skate that do open world better but I get it

 

The remakes are a big win for me but they won't be for everyone

I actually never played any of the Skate games

 

If you like the style of THUG1 you'll love Skate

It's not as over the top as the old THPS games or THUG2 but it does that open world skating thing really well and adds a lot to it while still feeling easy to play

 

Session is often my go-to when I wanna just free skate around but it is a lot more intensive and doesn't really give the power fantasy that Skate and TH games give, still heavily a sim but it adds a lot more difficulty

But it makes pulling cool things off REALLY satisfying

I loved the Tony Hawk games growing up but when I played the first one again on my N64 I got bored quickly.

 

I had loaded up Underground on my Steam Deck before the 3+4 remakes came out, just to mess around with it, and I still enjoyed it but some things aged so terribly about it (THE STEALTH MISSIONS (maybe skill issue)) and it just kinda felt a bit unnatural to play

It could use some love
