I've spent probably an entire year debating on buying Marvis Pro to get smarter playlists, last.fm integration, etc for Apple Music and I still haven't just spent the $10. Does anyone here use a third-party app for stuff like that?

Every time Jason shares his Last.FM stuff I'm like that's kinda cool, and then he goes into detail about how he manages it and I'm like FUCK THAT.

 

mewithoutYou is the best band to ever exist to me. lyrically they're unrivaled but musically they're not that different than their peers and I can see objectively that for the larger population they're like a solid band but not a GOAT.

 

I don't think I can name a single mewithoutYou song...

Somehow a band I completely bypassed, all the while enjoying similar artists and being a part of this community where they're so popular.

It's a very Chorus thing to say but my fave current band is still The 1975 and it's kind of funny how polarizing they've become and how hyperbolic people talk about them on both sides, calling them the greatest band to exist or saying they're complete dogshit, mostly because of Matty. Matty can be a dork and says dumb stuff, but afaik he's never done anything extremely problematic that he deserves to be "cancelled" for. It's pretty undeniable the influence they've had on modern indie/pop/rock/whatever you want to call it. Nearly every band in the 2010's was trying to copy what they were doing. It's also pretty undeniable they know how to write a hook. They just scratch an itch for me for nearly any mood I'm in

Without Googling it, I seem to remember Matty saying some terrible things on a podcast or in an interview or something. I still enjoy a lot of their music though, just resided to the idea that Matty isn't someone I'm parading as a "good person."

Hopefully he hasn't done something far worse that I'm not remembering.

 

saw them back in like 2018 or earlier, can't remember, at a festival. Went to the bathroom during their set and there were 2 dudes pissing next to each other complaining about how soft the music was and that "no one wants to hear this girly shit." I laughed. Saw them again like a year later, fantastic live band.

 

Seen them 3 or 4 times and easily the best live band I’ve ever seen. Their stage production is really top notch, especially for a band their size and they sound exactly the same live as recording

 

Yeah I can’t remember some of the shit he’s said and I certainly won’t go around parading him as a great person, but for the most part he just seems like an edgy Reddit troll guy

 

mewithoutyou were good up until brother, sister. Everything after is not for me.
