mewithoutYou is a near perfect band for me. If I ever got a tattoo, it would probably be mwY lyrics.

 

i do know it. they are in my library lol. i posted the original joke bc ive released like three songs in four years. having five songs in however many years terrain has been active on the same platforms is the same thing. we both need to release more haha

 

It’s annoying because Jimmy Eat World are great on merit and don’t need people acting like they’re the Beatles and making it weird lol

I think mewithoutYou is so ahead of every other band from the scene it’s not even funny but that is just My Opinion. Musically and lyrically they outclass everything else in the scene post hardcore umbrella that I listened to

 

Jimmy and death cab are the two bands from my youth that have transcended time and space and are still just as good and relatable for me now as they were 25 years ago.

i could see the lyrical argument but i don’t see much difference between them instrumentally and, like, touche amore who no one would say that about. and the vocals fit their vibe but range from being serviceable to objectively bad depending on the album

they’re a 7-7.5/10 band

Listened to Stage Four from Touché Amore recently, for the first time in awhile. Great album

 

Aaron Weiss got his PhD and currently is a professor somewhere out west. I feel like I know exactly what his classes would be like.

IMO the best post-hardcore album from the "scene" is Lowcountry from Envy On The Coast if that counts (they do count as a post-hardcore band but the album could count as not that)
