I love Takoma Park and I’m sad that it’s “too good” for me. It’s just the ideal city suburb with its own little arts district, its own metro stop, and absurdly cute houses and parks/river & forest bike trails, and great schools and active community events etc

It was where I recorded the first demos of my album songs, so it holds a special place in my heart, I remember pulling all nighters recording, and then walking across the street like a Zombie to Mark’s Kitchen for breakfast, before taking a 3-4 hour nap in my car and going back in to finish the song

I think I make very clear with my lifestyle that I’d rather be kinda broke in an area I love than have more money in a place I feel stir crazy haha. But music also plays a role I gotta be in a place that has a music scene that’s its best indie/punk bands are actually getting somewhere

Jacksonville was not that place. And tbh Atlanta wasn’t really either, even though it definitely is for other genres
