Here's our best options:

Kansas City, MO Very close to geographic center of the group. Chill vibe, affordable. Fewer direct flights than Chicago
Nashville, TN Central with strong airport access, fun city for groups. Slightly favors East/South
Denver, CO Already home to one person; stunning scenery and activities Less ideal for East/West Coast balance
St. Louis, MO Reasonably central, affordable Not as exciting or well-connected as others

 

I'd most likely do KC out of those but I don't see any being likely tbh

 

KC has the most places on my list that I need to go, Nashville I don't really feel strongly about going to (and also lacks a vinyl selling bar), Denver the elevation kills Laura so we can't do it, and STL I don't really want to go to

 

I think we should do OKC and stay at Josh's house because Kelsey seems to really want visitors

Re: making friends, one of my friends has a daughter who is a teenager which has been VERY helpful since my sons are on the older side of being kids. I feel like it's tough because a lot of people in my age group who are parents have a lot younger kids which I can relate to and work with but it definitely makes scheduling different than it is with my kids who have very different interest than theirs a lot of the time

Yeah that’d be great. Our kids are on the older end of our friend group. And our kids friends all have parents older than us.

 

I dont talk to my friends I grew up with. Its mainly work friends and my BIL and his family.

I only still talk to one person I grew up with (known him 20 years), but we've gone years without talking/seeing each other at various times. He has 4 kids and recently went through a divorce, and we've actually been talking/hanging out way more in the last 2 weeks than we have in probably 5ish years

 

70% of my friends I still talk to I went to high school with
