I literally called at 10pm last night (they’re open 24 hours) and they said “who told you you have to pay”? And I was like “well I’m uninsured” and they said “baby that’s not how it works, you paid us to put the stitches in right? The cost of removing them is included”.

I show up not even an hour later and a different front desk clerk is working and this… fucking person very rudely declared it would be $215, would not budge when the doctor said “I don’t have any patients I can just do it for him real quick for free”, then immediately threatened to Call The Cops on me because I obviously got upset that she’s price gouging me about something I was just told by the same office would be free an hour ago.

like, does the front desk just randomly decide which charge to apply to the visit or something? Because fuck that you don’t need to be shitty to people just because they’re not insured, I’m not a fuckin transient criminal trying to get freebies I am literally a patient of your practice who already paid $340 to put the fuckin things in

 

I would understand if I didn’t get the stitches there and I was taking them out at a different practice but that’s not the case

If it was the front desk’s full discretion how much my visit would cost then I fucking hate that person I spoke to last night, it’s not hard to be compassionate, removing stitches is a 3 minute job and there was nobody else there waiting for care. Literally just let me in, the doctor herself told you she’d do it for free, fuck is wrong with you that you have to try to flex on me cause I’m uninsured

My cousins husband is a vet. I can ask him to remove them for ya.

 

Bout to take scissors and remove them myself. I refuse to pay hundreds for THIS

 

Just a bummer cause I was so happy with how I was treated originally when I needed the stitches, the doctor and nurse were both really kind and patient with my fear of never having gotten stitches before. And it healed pretty good, isn’t even sore anymore
