Eh, more like between an average college player and LeBron James. Last time I saw them headline there were hundreds of people there, 930 club was decentiy full and that’s like a 1500 cap venue that a lot of midsized alt rock bands we know would play at. They are a household name for people who are really into punk.

 

not the point but there's like 20k college basketball players a year and 450 nba rostered players at any given time so i think dave's comparison is more accurate when you think about lebron being the greatest or 2nd greatest player of all time (an argument I do not care about) lol

 

Just to be clear Randall, because I have this argument with wrestling fans a lot, I define household name as "a name the average household would recognize."

So a band that has had hundreds of people come to a show is a bit ways off from that for me lol

It’s the difference between “indie label popular” and “major label popular”, it’s not like they’re crust punks who have never seen a green room or a tour bus before lmao

 

For example. They are a lot bigger than Pool Kids, a band most of us in this thread have heard of and whose shows sometimes cost more lol. This website is definitely skewed toward one scene of music in a way that inflates those bands and diminishes other indie rock scenes

Idk, I guess coming from the perspective of an actual DIY musician any band that makes a living off their touring / albums is a pretty big band to me lol. It’s super fucking hard and requires you to get super fucking lucky to even get Pool Kids size
