because at the time it seemed like you were making a lot of presumptions about people in here’s jobs that are kind of unfounded

similar to the thing last night calling 9-5ers NPCs. like i get what you meant now but with most things i think it’s based on how it was presented initially

 

The 3 hours doing laundry was counting all the time it’s in the wash, I feel like it’s not uncommon to take 30-40 minutes away from your computer to fold them though if you know you have no meetings and can get to the computer if you get pinged

leaving to go to a movie, of COURSE you don’t tell your boss “alright I’m gonna go see a movie now” lol, but when you look at it practically it’s not that uncommon to make up an excuse that “sounds legit” to leave early on a Friday when you really need a mental health break. Shit, people in DC be leaving work at like 12:30 pm-1 pm on fridays JUST SO 3 hours of rush hour traffic won’t start their weekend off on the wrong foot lol, and so many salary jobs seem to be copacetic about that, even government jobs

 

oh yeah i forgot that lol that’s wild

 

no company is telling their employees they can leave work 4 hours early to beat the traffic come on lets not do the silliness again

My own mom’s office lets her do that and has been for years lol. Maybe it’s just government workers that can use their extra hours during the week as leverage to take Friday half days, but it is DEF a thing in DC haha. It’s why Friday rush hour starts at 1pm there

 

I’m a very “finish the task” oriented person so that idea has always appealed to me. I’d rather work an 11 hour Tuesday and a 10 hour Wednesday and Thursday to cross more tasks off my list sooner if it meant I can basically have a 4 day work week and only have to come in for meetings and correspondence on that fifth day. When I’m fixated on the task at hand I can stay in that mode for hours and hours but I’d want the benefit of that extra work counting towards my job’s expectations. Sadly at some jobs that’s not how it works, being efficient and working fast just means you get rewarded with more work lol

 

they'll be strictly 8-5 with no WFH and i'm going to bring back our time keeper program that I got rid of when I took over and make them track every minute of their day on which program area that they're working on.

haha thankfully treating them as adults that can manage their time effectively and get their work done and also doing little things like send them home at 1 on a friday before a holiday has motivated them to do their jobs and i haven't had to do that in 5+ years

 

I did not but I was in a rush so good tip for next time.

 

It makes a difference. You can also use buttermilk but I tend to do that with wings.
