I'm going to New Orleans August 3-6 and then to Asheville August 9-11 that's my summer fun right there

will be eating amazing food and drinking amazing wine and seeing music and family in NOLA while i pass a level 1 sommelier exam

will be mountain hiking and lake swimming and brewery / healthy hipster-food hopping with my partner in Asheville

 

going to be inside my house in air conditioning

hopefully everyone is okay with this

 

I mean nobody LIKES being hot and sweating but in the northeast as long as it’s not a heat wave a little hot/sweaty is easily worth it for summer activities imo

 

Sometimes it’s not EVEN that hot. We get low to mid 80s and breezy some weeks in the summer up in Baltimore (not in DC though it’s hot every day down in that swamp)

Calf felt better so I got my 8 miles in today. Gonna go to Home Depot and grocery store later and then pick up my beautiful wife whom I’ve missed very much for 8 days now.

 

I have never and will never run 8 miles at one time

Man, I’ll still never forget I got to see Christian Holden of the Hotelier play a totally unannounced basement / house show in Atlanta, that I got invited to cause I went to the same diner 10 times, and a guy who worked there finally talked to me enough to discover I was a band / DIY music person

there were mayyyybe 30-35 people there all seated quietly and he performed incredible, what a sick experience to have. I still have videos on my phone from it. And the most hilarious part is the other artists were not good at all lmao. One of them has gotten somewhere - World’s Greatest Dad is a really annoying whiney derivative emo revival band that has toured and stuff; I do not like them, but it was their house that hosted the show and they played a solo opening set. How the fuck did they make THAT connection

the other opener was the front person of Cougar Sweat and their loose southern rock and roll style did not translate to an acoustic setting very well

 

Wings

 

I hosted Lady Lamb in my living room once in Jacksonville, that was cool. It was her first show in FL. She played extremely quiet on nylon strings and her voice stood out a lot in that context (but it always does, she got PIPES)

My living room was FULL. Not a single inch of space left on the floor to sit on. There were kids and old people there and everything haha. I think all 50 tickets sold pretty easily though she’s not as big as the Hotelier obviously, who simply cannot announce a house show.

 

So my local pub doesn’t even have the Orioles because it’s on Roku.

what. Why.

 

It’s alright they just blew a great opportunity to open the game up in the 8th. They’re the first leg of 15 in my parlay lol

 

They are terrible hitters with RISP and I don’t know what the fuck happened there between this season and last
