The learning curve is insane but when it clicks it’s so fun

 

Medium sized towns in the US can be pretty cool. Some examples of those include Bellingham WA, Ann Arbor MI, Boone NC, St Augustine FL, Denton TX, Youngstown OH, etc.

And obviously there’s some cool large towns / small cities. As far as places I’ve been; Asheville NC, Annapolis MD really stand out here, I haven’t been to Charleston SC but I imagine that’s similar. And there’s plenty of not AWESOME but pretty neat places this size like Athens & Savannah GA, Lancaster PA, Akron OH, and I’m sure a bunch of smaller Oregon and Washington and Colorado cities that aren’t the size or Portland / Seattle / Denver etc.

But if we’re talking a town of less than 40k people in the entire area, I’ve been to very few American towns that size that I could see myself in (Yellow Springs OH is the only one coming to mind right now) but I’ve seen multiple Canadian towns in southern Ontario and southeastern BC that size that were wonderful. Nelson, British Columbia especially fucking ruled.
