Now that Laura's foot is healed up and she's (mostly) fully rehabbed she's feeding our cat at 11p and it's allowed me to go to sleep earlier again and I'm so grateful for it

So my sleep is like 10-6 and hers is like 12-8

Before I was going like 1-730 and I was dying

 

When you have 70 days off in a row you can very quickly lose control of your life. Schedules keep it safe

 

Yeah this is one of the “worst” album roll outs in a long time. Huge gap between announcement and release date and almost half the album is released during that time. 1975 is also really bad about doing this too.

 

Once my eyes open after 7 am and I have a cat scratching the blinds to have me open it up so he can stare at a bush and the other is bringing mouse toys to me in bed and rubbing on my face … it’s the point of no return and I’m up

And if they’re locked out of the room they turn into linebackers and smash against the door until it’s open

 

My cat never wakes me up. She's a good bb.

However we have two new ones and one of them is a little demon.

 

Yesterday we found both of them inside our bed frame. They apparently unzipped it and crawled in and it took me like 15 minutes to get the older one to come out until the bird video on YouTube did the trick

 

I am terrified of them crawling inside the bed frame fabric because I had a cat once crawl in there and take the grossest shit I have ever smelt in my life

 

i guess i get why artists have to do this sort of thing but there is zero difference to me personally between a rollout over a couple months and just "hey here's a new album"

like it doesn't affect me at all

The older one isn’t motivated by food, treats, catnip, or toys so I was like wtf do I do

It was between bird videos or videos of burgers cooking (which we realized he likes)

my assumption is the long rollout is so that they can make money off pre-orders but it just feels so weird when an artist announces an album four months ahead of time and release seven of the songs before the album is out.

but yeah I get why a smaller artist like Petey has to do it.

i enjoy summer and i choose to simply not be a giant diaper baby about the temperatures!!!!

 

I guess my life never having structure means there’s nothing to lose control of lmao

I’ve taken a week off - two weeks off 3 times this year to go tour and tour is just, we wake up at a reasonable time to get to town before rush hour / with sometime to enjoy an afternoon there. sometimes that’s 8 am if it’s a long drive, sometimes that’s 11 am or even noon if it’s only 2 hours away. Then I come back, take maybe one day to rest (sometimes not lol) and go right back to work.

and let me tell you what when I get out of shows I’m playing at 1 AM / shifts I work at home at 12 AM, I gotta schedule in days to sleep past 10 if I want to stay emotionally regulated lol. Cause the days I do wake up earlier come at a cost in terms of exhaustion and grumpyness slowly building up, especially if work / my shows have been busy and my body is tired as well

The temperature is the only bad thing about summer.

 

Yeah there’s the difference I’m often in bed like 230/3 AM and occasionally later on weekends when my partner and I both work late lol

 

nothing to lose control over, except for your mental and emotional health!! Lol

Well no, the NOT making myself wake up early if I don’t have to is what helps with that lol

I get plenty of sleep cause I give myself grace when I need it and thankfully don’t have kids or dogs cause that’s gotta be tough when you work nights. Cats at least are easier to raise from kittens to live on whatever schedule you’re on since they’re so nocturnal anyway
