Trying to find a way to articulate it in a non-insulting way and I might just give up

  10. stuff like that is generally annoying bc i think the context of who they lost and who they played should matter vs. just blindly saying that buuuuttttttt even if you look at that it should still be ND over bama lol

  11. if miami and ND didn't play each other but ND lost to texas (just using a similarly ranked team) and miami beat OU or whatever in week 1 miami and ND would both be in. they're using the h2h as a crutch when in reality they should use how closely matched they were as a justification for both being in

    Oregon vs. Texas Tech
    Who cares vs. Indiana

    Mississippi vs. Georgia
    RIP vs. Ohio State

Hopefully we get good games but theres one good matchup before the semis

Even as a Bama fan, I agree they shouldn’t have been in after yesterday, but Miami definitely needed to be above ND as well. Really don’t like all this talk about getting rid of the G5 bids or adding metrics. Those teams already have the slimmest of margins to make it in and just because the ACC was trash this year, doesn’t mean we throw it all out. They also deserve a chance to prove themselves against what we think is the highest level of competition.

  14. so did bama and they lost by 21. it happened yesterday.

  15. I was mainly focused on the Miami v ND debate. They got it right. So I’m happy with that.

BUT…the Bama stuff is weird. They don’t move a spot for having -3 rushing yards and getting blown out…but BYU does move down spots for losing their game in similar fashion?

I’m fine if they want to make it a thing where the CCG doesn’t impact playoffs for the loser. But it’s gotta be consistent.

I think the other piece that was eluded to by Rece when interviewing the Committee Chair is that if Virginia wins last night, they’re in and I can see them leaving Miami out. They’ll never admit it, but they wanted to ensure the ACC gets at least one team in and (misguidedly) didn’t want to leave Bama out.

I definitely understood why they took Bama and miami. Bama best resume....and then Miami h2h on Notre dame.

I agree with the choice..Notre dame steam rolling a mediocre schedule doesnt really get it done

I don’t really care who’s in over who but I do find it a bit odd a ND team loses by a FG to Miami in week 1 which is a bigger deal than Miami losing to two unranked teams.

I think its because the Miami losses arent great but theyre not dogshit. Smu and Louisville are eh losses

Btw I would've picked Notre dame and Bama so but I get why they did what they did

Dogshit no but still worse than NDs.

In the end it doesn’t matter because JMU is winning it all

I’m a bit conflicted about it all. On one hand, I just know Bama will get demolished. This team isn’t built to compete for championships. Such a lame ass style of football that Deboer and Grubb coach. It’s impossible to believe this team will make a significant run.

But Bama would have won the conference outright if the title game didn’t exist. And that’s not just a personal opinion. The actual standings and tie breaker shit would say so. Being a top tier team in the SEC has to count for something, right? Bama is just flunking the eye test lately and they’re really easy to hate right now. lol

  23. A win is a win though. And if you go back and watch that game, Miami dominated most of it. ND made a late comeback but came up short. Miami deserves to be rewarded for the win.

They also had like 4-5 common opponents. Miami had a bigger margin of victory against all but one of those teams. It would make zero sense to pick ND over them.

So does losing to lesser opponents not mean as much? If so, I’d say that’s an issue imo.

  25. SOR between the two teams were basically the same. I think 44th and 45th. So even with those two losses, the strength of their record is just as good as ND’s.
