A friend of mine who is a Florida grad and was connected in the sports department has said Marcus Freeman and Lane Kiffin are the two main targets.

 

I haven’t heard Freeman but Lane for sure is.

 

Also idk the reliability but there was a report he’s going to be fired regardless of the result, which makes sense to me since they have a bye after this game.

 

Idk why freeman would leave.

 

She played soccer with Abby Wambach back in the day, then dated the baseball coach a few years back. Not sure who her sources would be now. But she’s hoping it’s not Lane, haha.

 

ND to florida would be a crazy step down even if florida wasn't in a tailspin. just as a program that would be crazy under better circumstances. no chance.

lane i kinda think shouldn't leave bc he could be a god there vs. having immediate expectations to turn it around at UF but it's at least more likely

 

Just learned Lane and Marcus make the same amount of money. I’m sure Florida could offer more, but do you give up potential playoff contenders mid-season in a program you’ve built to compete? Kinda fits both.

 

Agree about Lane. He can go 9-4, 10-3 year in year out at Ole Miss and they’d probably build a statue of him vs that same record at Florida for a few years would get him fired because they think they should always be better than that.

 

I would love either Freeman or Lane. The career turnaround Lane has pulled off is super impressive from ultimate punchline to so legit.

As far as ND to Florida goes, both programs are jokes. Floridas performances are definitely worse, but ND hasn’t won anything meaningful since what? 1989? As a society, we need to take them off the damn pedestal.
